Apple Syrup Cake
6-8 slices. Delicious served hot with vanilla ice cream on the side.
Ingredients
250gms softened butter
1 grated apple
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup milk
Topping
3/4 cup tart apple syrup
1/4 cup sugar
Instructions
1.Beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
2.Mix in the grated apple and eggs.
3.Sift flour, baking soda and baking powder into the creamed mixture, then blend in the milk.
4.Turn into 23 cm lightly greased and floured cake tin.
5.Bake 180 C for 40-45 minutes.
6.Remove cake from the oven and pour the topping over the hot cake. leave in the tin to cool down.

8.Gently warm the tart apple syrup in a heavy saucepan and stir in the sugar until dissolved.
9.Leave to cool.
